Choir Chord

A music game in which you can control 4 singing figures in a choir. Choir Chord is a simple music game in which the player controls a choir with 4 singing figures. By dragging the figures up and down, the player can influence their pitch. This also makes the figures longer and thinner or shorter and thicker. A microphone is attached to a cord at the top of the screen. By tapping this, the player makes all the figures sing together at the same time.

What is the purpose?

The goal within this game is, like many EMB oriented games, to have an experience. The game cannot be won, lost, or completed. It’s actually more like a virtual toy. However, the purpose of the game, as in the reason we make it, is to enrich the player’s musical experience by giving them some musical direction and making them play with associations. We hope that by playing this game, the player can have a positive auditory experience, and feel that they can influence the sounds that come out of the game. For the slightly higher cognitive level players, we might even expect the game to spark some creativity, and we can hope that they will experiment and play with different combinations of sounds.

Target Group

Choir Chord is intended for people with (multiple) disabilities and an affinity with music. It is important that the player has some motor dexterity in the hands so that they can manipulate the figures in the game. Random tapping on the screen also has an effect, but this game isn’t really designed for that.
